Rocky Boy Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana needs funding to establish offices at Blackfeet Reservation, Crow-Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Flathead Reservation, Fort Belknap Reservation and at Great Falls, Montana where Hill 57 Reservation is located. Our goal is to gain Tribal Recognition at Blackfeet Reservation, Crow-Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Flathead Reservation and Fort Belknap Reservation and Federal Recognition for Rocky Boys Tribe of Chippewa Indians at Great Falls with Reservation. Barona


It is one of the many communities of the Black Hills Indian Reservation. It is located 3 miles northeast of the San Vicente Reservoir. North Barona is 1 mile to the northeast. Santee, California is 10 miles to the southwest. According to the 2000 census, the population of Barona including North Barona, was 536. Indians account for 357 of Barona's population. Mexicans account for 98 of the communities population. Whites account for 102 of the population of Barona. Like some other Black Hills Reservation communities, they are having problems identifying their race at Barona. There are 154 housing units in both Barona and North Barona. The average household size is 3.5 persons per housing unit. Elevation is 1,384 feet above sea level. Below are several google earth photos of Barona.
