Benton Paiute

It is one of the many communities of the Black Hills Reservation. It is another of the Black Hills Reservation communities located along the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. According to the 2000 census, the population of the Benton Paiute community was 50. Indians account for 39 of the community's population. Mexicans account for 5 of the Benton Paiute population. Whites account for 6 of the community's population. There are 16 housing units in Benton Paiute. The average household size is 3.1 persons per housing unit. Using google earth i counted 35 housing units in Benton Paiute. If that is correct, it means the Benton Paiute population is twice as high as 50. It could be over 100. Elevation is 5,691 feet above sea level. Nevada is 8 miles to the east. Below is a google earth photo of Benton Paiute.
