Chokio, Alberta


This is a very rural settlement within Piikani Reserve. Housing units are widely scattered about. One would be fooled into believing Chokio is pronounced as Tokio, by way it is spelt. Chokio covers a very large area. Number of housing units is hard to find out but using google earth i counted about 60 or so. Chokio is a couple of miles northeast of Brocket. Population is probably between 300 and 400. Land is quite level in this area of Piikani Reserve. Them Rocky Mountains can be seen from a distance.
