Cowessess, Saskatchewan
This small Ojibway community is located within Crooked Lakes Reserve. Below are links to google earth photos of Cowessess. It's located in a scenic region of CLR. Many Montana Ojibway's relocated to CLR after they fled to the Cypress Hills of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Cowessess has a population of 540 according to 2016's census. However, Canada does not provide demographics for Reserve communities so this Ojibway town's population is less than 540. Cowessess is an attractive community with small mountains to it's south and north. Using google earth I counted around 70 or more housing units at Cowessess. Since CLR has an average household size of 2.8 persons per household, Cowessess possibly has a population near 196. Their location is beautiful. Another small CLR town is located 1.0 miles or 1.6 kilometers to Cowessess's southeast.
