East Fork, Fort Apache Reservation


It is one of 6 Fort Apache settlements located in Arizona. The CDP or census designated place of East Fork, covers an area of 2.9 sq. mi., which means it is spread out. It should be considered a part of Whiteriver since both settlements nearly converge. In the 2000 census the population of East Fork, Arizona was at 880. When including the population of Whiteriver the population is over 6,000. Native Americans accounted for 99% of the cdp's population. Economically the settlement is doing poorly. Around 54% of the cdp's citizens live below the poverty line. There is a total of 228 housing units in East Fork, which gives the cdp an average household size of a little over 4.0 persons per housing unit. Elevation is 5,240 feet above sea level.
