Rocky Boy Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana

Jackson Village, Minnesota

This small Leech Lake Reservation community is located eleven miles northeast of Bena and ten miles northwest of Ball Club. Winnie Dam is two miles to it's south. Lake Winnibigoshish is a little over half a mile to it's west. Jackson Village may have as many as 20 housing units. Nearly all are located along Jackson Village Road. Some are located along County Road 115 and Highway 46. Using google earths historical imagery, Jackson Village does not show up until 2003. It was not around in 1991. It's a newer Leech Lake Reservation community. A few farms are located in this area which is quite unusual since that land is a part of Chippewa National Forest. Jackson Village is within Bowstring Lake Unorganized Territory which has a population of 1,166 according to a 2010 census. 61% of that unorganized territories population is Indian but 65% when including Mexicans and mixed bloods. Population of Jackson Village may be between 40 and 60. Elevation is 1,335 feet above sea level. Below are several google earth photos of Jackson Village, Minnesota and links to other Leech Lake Reservation communities.
