Located in far northern Ontario, far from any white settlements, is the Chippewa Treaty 9 Reservation settlement of Kingfisher.
The settlement is located in a region which allows the citizens of the small settlement to exploit the surrounding land,
which means fishing, hunting, and trapping. Latest population estimate puts the population of Kingfisher at 415 but it is
obviously much higher. There are supposedly 113 housing units in the small settlement with 102 being occupied. Of the population,
395 speak Anishinabe. The main language spoken at Kingfisher is Anishinabe (305). All citizens are Indian. Below is a link to
