Kitigan Zibi, Quebec


Located in Quebec, Kitigan Zibi has a population of 1,572 according to 2011's census. Below are several links to google earth photos of Kitigan Zibi, Quebec. The community has 455 housing units and an average household size of 3.4 persons per housing unit. Around 420 continue to speak Anishinabe at Kitigan Zibi. Kitigan Zibi is an Algonquin Ojibway settlement. They are descended from ogima sagima's Ojibway settlers who forced their way to that region of Quebec in the 16th century, from a western location. In Anishinabe, Kitigan Zibi means Garden River. However, the white town of Maniwaki is almost adjacent to Kitigan Zibi and Canadian leaders are forcefully assimilating Ojibwa Folks. Kitigan Zibi is probably a predominantly white community. Look at the satellite image. Also look at the Kitigan Zibi houses. Long ago Ojibwa leaders followed prophesy and took their Ojibwa Subjects and migrated north and west.
