Little Moss Lake, Minnesota

This Leech Lake Reservation rural settlement is located six miles south of Cass Lake. Little Moss Lake or As-saas Ga-miiz (assaikam is an Ojibway word for moss in swamps) has a number of housing units which may number up to 20. It is difficult using google earth to find them however. So housing units may be lower or higher. Nearly half are mobile homes. Housing units are located along County Road 144. It is located in Wilkinson Township which had a population of 401 in a 2010 census. Indians made up 51.6% or 207 of it's population. Little Moss Lake, Minnesota may have a population between 40 and 60. Little Moss Lake (that lake of course) is situated to it's east. It is more like a populated place or cdp (Census Designated Place). Elevation is 1,307 feet above sea level. Below are several google earth satellite images of Little Moss Lake, Minnesota and links to other Leech Lake Reservation communities.
