Rocky Boy Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana needs funding to establish offices at Blackfeet Reservation, Crow-Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Flathead Reservation, Fort Belknap Reservation and at Great Falls, Montana where Hill 57 Reservation is located. Our goal is to gain Tribal Recognition at Blackfeet Reservation, Crow-Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Flathead Reservation and Fort Belknap Reservation and Federal Recognition for Rocky Boys Tribe of Chippewa Indians at Great Falls with Reservation. Lower Brule, Lower Brule Reservation


It is the only Native American settlement on the Lower Brule Reservation. The CDP or census designated place of Lower Brule, had a population of 599 according to the 2000 census. Native Americans accounted for 94% of the cdp's population. Whites accounted for 4% of the population. There is a total of 182 housing units in Lower Brule, South Dakota, which gives the cdp an average household size of 3.3 persons per housing unit. Economically the cdp's citizens are doing poorly. Around 51% of the cdp's population lives below the poverty line. The cdp of Lower Brule covers 0.4 sq. mi. Elevation is 1,444 feet above sea level. Zip code is 57548.
