Missanabie

This Chippewa Treaty 9 Reservation settlement is located in northern Ontario about 42 miles northeast of Lake Superior and 50 miles northwest of the Chippewa Treaty 9 Reservation settlements located around Chapleau, Ontario. It appears these Anishinabe people are largely Metis or mixed bloods. I can't find out what their population is. They are in the process of re-establishing their community status. In 1992, they elected their first chief. Below is a link to the Chippewa Treaty 9 Reservation settlement of Missanabie.
