Rocky Boy Tribe
Chippewa Indians of
North Green Acres, Turtle Mountain Reservation
Located about one mile due east of Belcourt, North Green Acres is obviously a growing settlement which is surrounded by small lakes and patchy spots of woods. The 120 or so housing units are located just east of 46th AVE N.E. and Highway 5. North Green Acres may have a population of between 350 and 450 people. It depends on the average household size. The average household size for North Green Acres, should be around 3.5 persons per housing unit. The population is probably around 90% to 95% Native American. The community has no business establishments or possibly a couple at the most. Most of the people who have jobs probably work in nearby Belcourt. There is a Green Acres, North Dakota which is this settlement and another located about a half mile directly to the south. I did not include Green Acres with North Green Acres. The total population of Green Acres including the north portion, is 575. Below is a google earth picture of the settlement.
