It is located just under 4 miles west of White Earth. Ogema is a Chippewa word which means chief, king, and leader. According to 2010 census, population of Ogema which is a city, is 184. Native Americans account for 46% of it's population. When including mixed bloods, it's percentage rises to 61%. Whites account for 38% of Ogema's population. Ogema has around 84 housing units which gives this small city an average household size of 2.1 persons per household. It is located on Minnesota's plains or prairie. Ogema covers 1.29 sq. mi.
