Owyhee, Duck Valley Reservation


It is the only settlement on the Duck Valley Reservation of Idaho and Nevada. The 2010 census reported a population of 953. Native Americans including mixed bloods and Hispanics, make up 93% of the population. Native Americans alone make up 88% of the cdp's population. Owyhee has a total of 360 occupied housing units which gives the cdp an average housing unit size of around 2.7 persons per housing unit. It covers 225 sq. mi. Elevation is 5,400 feet above sea level. Zip code is 89832. Economically, the citizens of Owyhee are not doing so well. Around a third of the cdp's population lives below the poverty line.
