Pennington, Minnesota

Located in Leech Lake Reservations northwest, is Pennington. This LLR settlement covers a large area and is surrounded to it's west by three white resorts which i have tried to not include while estimating it's number of housing units. Pennington does have a zip code and using that zip code to find out it's demographics is possible. Pennington's population is 220 according to a 2010 cnsus. Indians make up 75 of it's population of 220. Mixed bloods make up 16 of Pennington's population of 220, while Mexicans make up 7 of it's population of 220. Pennington covers 56.60 sq. mi. It extends up to Rabideau Lake which is supposedly well off Reservation or 6.0 miles north of LLR. Supposedly about half of Pennington is located off of LLR. Gull Lake (it may be that Gull Lake Mille Lacs Chippewa's were relocated to in late 1902) is 6.8 miles northwest of Rabideau Lake. Pennington has 224 housing units with 87 lived in, which means most are used by vacationers. Using google earth, i counted around 60 to 70 housing units in Pennington. Some of them are in Cass River. Since average Chippewa household averages between 3.5 to 5.0 persons per housing unit, population of Pennington may be between 140 and 210. Most citizens are probably Native American. Below are several google earth photos of Pennington, Minnesota and links to other Leech Lake Reservation communities.
