One of two settlements located on the Apache San Carlos Reservation of Arizona, the Apache settlement of Peridot, has a population of 1,287 according to the latest (2007) population estimate. Native Americans accounted for 95% of the population. Whites accounted for 1% of the population. Hispanics accounted for 2% of the settlements population. There are around 325 housing units in the settlement, which gives the settlement an average household size of 4.1 persons per housing unit. Economically the citizens of Peridot are doing poorly.
