Miccanoc Sippi, Leech Lake Reservation

It is another tiny Leech Lake Reservation settlement located in the woods. The settlement has no name so i thought i name it after the river that flows south and west of it. That be Turtle River. It is located in Sugar Bush Township, Beltrami County, Minnesota which had a population of 193 according to the 2000 census. Indians make up 26% of the townships population but 27% when including mixed bloods. About half of the township is off Reservation. The Miccanoc Sippi housing units, which number as many as 15, are located between Preston Lane Northeast, North Branch Drive NE, Ryan Lane NE, and along County Road 20. Most of the housing units are mobile homes. Miccanoc Sippi is located eleven miles north of Cass Lake and two miles from Big Lake. The population of Miccanoc Sippi may be between 30 and 50. Elevation is 1,312 feet above sea level. I don't know the demographics. It is, however, located at the extreme northern part of the Reservation. It could be predominantly white. Below are a few google earth photos of Miccanoc Sippi, Leech Lake Reservation.
