Our goal is to gain Tribal Recognition at Blackfeet Reservation, Crow-Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Flathead Reservation and Fort Belknap Reservation and Federal Recognition for Rocky Boys Tribe of Chippewa Indians at Great Falls with Reservation. Rolette, Turtle Mountain Reservation
It is located about 9 miles south of Shell Valley and 13 miles southwest of Belcourt. Rolette is another city which has an increasing Indian population. The 2000 census reported the Indian population to make up 21% of the population, while the 2010 census reported the Indian population to make up 39%. Including mixed bloods it is 44%. The 2010 population of Rolette, North Dakota is 594. An increase of 56 from the 2000 census of 538. The white population increased slightly, while the Indian population increased from around 110, to nearly 240. Rolette has a total of 284 housing units, which gives the city an average household size of nearly 2.0 persons per housing unit. Around 16% of the population lives below the poverty line.
The city of Rolette was founded in 1905. The region was still unsafe at the time. Rolette covers 1.0 sq. mi. Elevation is 1,627 feet above sea level. Zip code is 58366.
