Rosebud, Rosebud Reservation


It is the capital of the Rosebud Reservation. The cdp (census designated place) of Rosebud, is located in a beautiful wooded area that is especially beautiful during the spring, summer, and autumn. According to the 2010 census Rosebud has a population of 1,587. The cdp is spread out over 13.1 sq. mi. There are many businesses in the community but it is government jobs that employ a great many of the cdp's citizens. It is estimated that 43% of the settlements citizens live below the poverty line. Native Americans including mixed bloods and Hispanics, make up 97% of the population. A total of 465 housing units are in Rosebud. It gives the settlement an over 3.0 persons per housing unit size.
