Sambaa K'e (Trout Lake) Dene First Nation & History



This mixed Anishinabe-Athabasacan-Inuit band or community, lives in the northwest territories. Their tribal history probably involved being members of the iron confederation. They signed the 1921 treaty 11 with canada. The sambaa ke (they are also known as the trout lake first nation) athabascans reserve has few living on the first nation. The total enrolled population of the samba ke first nation is 116, with 0 living on reserve. It is very similar to the other first nations of the northwest territories. The great majority live off the land that is their first nations.
