Snye, Walpole Island Reserve

This small Ojibway community is located at Walpole Island Reserves extreme east. Below are links to google earth photos of this community. It's one of Walpole Island Reserves largest communities. It's housing units are located from Old Ferry Road, Snye Subdivision Road where main part of Snye is, Hickory Ridge Road, Peters Lane, Bridge Road, New Ferry Road, Tecumseh Road and Snye River Road. Using google earth I counted around 90 housing units. Canada does not provide details on Ojibway Towns populations and demographics. Only Reserves. Average household size for WIR is 2.6 persons per household which is below normal for Ojibwa communities. Snye has a population of around 225 or higher. I named this WIR unincorporated community after Snye Subdivision Road, where this community has an apperance of a town.
