Rocky Boy Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana

South Strawberry Lake, Minnesota

It is located over a half a mile south of Strawberry Lake or in Ojibway O-de-min Ga-miiz. There are up to 35 housing units located north and south of County Highway 143. They are located between County Highway 34 and Reservation Highway 23. It is located within Sugar Bush Township which has a population of 504 according a 2010 census. Indians make up 24.2% or 122, of Sugar Bush Townships population but 34.7% or 175, when including Mexicans and mixed bloods. South Strawberry Lake or in Ojibway Shaw-an O-de-min Ga-miiz is very rural. I have no idea what it's demographics are. There may be a large white population living there. An area between County Highway 34 and Reservation Highway 23, along County Highway 143, is largely covered by a forest. Population is probably between 70 and 105. Below are several google earth photos of South Strawberry Lake, Minnesota and links to other White Earth Reservation communities.
