St. Mary, Montana


It is located on Glacier National Park's east and within an Ojibway Blackfeet Reservation established in 1902 or 1909. Below are several google earth photos of St. Mary, Montana. Chief Rocky Boy was living in this region as early as 1885. In summer of 1902, he led many Ojibway People to Blackfeet Reservation where they settled west of Blackfoots or adjacent to Rocky Mountains. St. Mary's is a resort village which has a permanent population of near 50 yet this settlements population increases by ten times during summers. There are many cabins, lodges, and rv parks to house many tourists who visit Glacier National Park. This settlement is very much like that of East Glacier Park Village. Indians make up a high percentage of this settlements permanent population. Come summer time, many people from other parts of Blackfeet Reservation find employment in St. Mary. It's not possible to correctly give an accurite population of St. Mary. It's population is included with Babb, Montana's zip code area of 59411. According to 2010's census, zip code area 59411 has a population of 460. Indians make up 325 of it's population of 460. It covers 239.2 sq. mi. or 619.5 sq. km.
