It is the largest community within the Blood Reserve and it's capitol. I have no idea what the population of Stand Off is. Using google earth i counted over 200 housing units. Since the Reserve has an average household size of 4.6 persons per housing unit, the population of Stand Off is probably between 800 and 900. Stand Off has the appearance of a town. There is a school, the government buildings, health centre, and a few business establishments within the community. Some of the community's residents probably work at Fort MacLeod which is about 18 miles to the north. A few may even work at Lethbridge which is 25 miles to the northeast.
