Tuolumne Rancheria


It is one of the many communities of the Black Hills Indian Reservation. Tuolumne Rancheria is located about 59 miles southwest of Bridgeport. It is on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Bridgeport is on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. North Fork Rancheria is 66 miles to the southeast. According to the 2000 census, the population of Tuolumne Rancheria is 168. Indians account for 130 of Tuolumne Rancherias population. Mexicans account for 8 of the population. Whites account for 31 of the population. There are 63 housing units. The average household size is 2.7 persons per housing unit. Elevation is 2,750 feet above sea level. Tuolumne Rancheria is located within land cession number 281. It is linked to the Reservation set aside from land cession number 281. The Reservation number is 280.
