Wahnapitei, Wahnapitei First Nation


Located in Ontario, the Chippewa settlement of Wahnapitei has a population of 52 according to the latest population estimate (2006). There are 33 total housing units in the settlement with 21 occupied at the present time. That gives wahnapitei a 2.5 persons per housing unit average which is below normal for Chippewa settlements. The Anishinabe language has died out there. The Reserve is surrounded by numerous white settlements. There are 10 non Indians living there.
