Our goal is to gain Tribal Recognition at Blackfeet Reservation, Crow-Northern Cheyenne Reservation, Flathead Reservation and Fort Belknap Reservation and Federal Recognition for Rocky Boys Tribe of Chippewa Indians at Great Falls with Reservation. Wanblee, Pine Ridge Reservation
One of several settlements located on the Pine Ridge Reservation of South Dakota, Wanblee had a population of 641 according to the 2000 census. It is located in Jackson County. The CDP or census designated place of Wanblee, has 144 housing units which gives the cdp an average household size of nearly 4.3 persons per housing unit. Native Americans accounted for 97% of the cdp's population. Whites accounted for 2% of the population. Economically, the cdp of Wanblee is doing very poorly. Around 72% of the citizens of Wanblee live below the poverty line. The cdp covers an area of 2.2 sq. mi. Elevation is 2,638 feet above sea level. Zip code is 57577.
