The Shoshone Ojibwa community of Whiterocks has a population of 221 according to 2020's census. Natives make up 91.0% of the population. Whites 8.1%. Mixed bloods 0.9%. Mexicans 0.5%. During 2010's census Whiterocks had a population of 289. There are few businesses at Whiterocks. Fort Duchesne is now Uintah Valley Reservations principle community. This community's population has declined steadily since 1910 when it's population was 1,349. Either it's limits were larger in 1910 or possibly it was considered a district of UVR during those times. Whiterocks is a CDP covering an area of 2.4 sq. mi. or 6.2 sq. km. There are a total of 94 housing units with 29 vacant. So Whiterocks has 65 housing units. Average household size is 3.3 persons per housing unit. Zip code is 84085. Elevation is 6,033 feet above sea level. A few miles north of Whiterocks is Ashley National Forest. Whiterocks Fish Hatchery is located at this Shoshone Ojibwa community's extreme northwest. Climate conditions are arid or desert like with long hot summers and rather cold winters as a result of the high elevation.
