Windigo, Minnesota


It is a tiny LLR settlement located just north of Cass Lakes northern shores. Potato Islands are about 0.5 miles south. There are about 17 housing units at Windigo. There is a rather new resort located at Windigo. It's known as Break On The Lake Resort. It has 11 cabins. It is located within Ten Lake Township which has a population of 1,026 according to a 2010 census. Indians make up 62% of it's population but 64% when including Mexicans and mixed bloods. Most housing units are manufactured homes or mobile homes. Population of Windigo (Windigo means white lies in Ojibway), is probably between 35 and 50. There may be more housing units hidden in woods to it's north. This settlement may be predominantly white.
