Cumberland House First Nation
Located about 35 miles west of The Pas, Manitoba, is an Ojibway Kasba Reservation community of Cumberland House. Population is 802 according to the 2011 census. In 1774, white invaders established Cumberland House Trading Post. It set off a war. It is known as the Northwest Passage War and American Revolutionary War. Hudson Bay company caused that trouble. First Nation known to be Cumberland House, is in fact Ojibwa. They named these Ojibway People being The Cumberland Band. Read Treaty 5 text very carefully.
