English River First Nation of Ontario

This band of Ojibway Indians live in far western northwestern Ontario, adjacent to Albany River. They are Albany River Ojibway's. They are a part of a large Ojibway Reserve in Ontario, that Canada is using Deception to fool you. Other communities of Savanne Reserve include Eagle Lake, Lac Des Mille Lacs, Lac Seul, Kawawiagamok, Wabigoon and Wabuskang. Savanne Agency managed them all which means all are within the same Ojibway Reserve. Same as with Reservations in the United States. According to 2016's census, on-Reserve population of English River First Nation of Ontario, is 638. They have 223 total housing units with 198 lived in year round. Average household size is 3.3 persons per household. Around 200 continue to speak Ojibway at English River First Nation of Ontario. English River is one of three names this Ojibway community goes by. Their community is nearly isolated. Highway 671 connects it to Kenora, Ontario. which is 35 miles or 56.3 kilometers to their southwest.
