Lubicon Lake First Nation
Located near Peace River, Alberta, is the Anishinabe Lubicon First Nation. Evidently this band of Anishinabe Indians do not have a Reserve as of yet. Their total population is 419, with the majority (216) living on crown land, while the remainder (203) live with the whites. Many can trace their origins back to Montana, where they originally lived but were driven out by the whites, after the 1868-1886 war. Ogimak Big Bear or Sitting Bull, led them up to Canada.
