Chippewa Indians Shawanaga First Nation
This band of chippewa indians live just east of the northern shores of georgian bay. Their tribal history involved several long wars against the whites. They signed the 1923 williams treaty which ceded their land and established their reserve in ontario. The size of their first nation is 4,508 hectares or 11,139 acres. Their total enrolled band population is 152, with most probably living off the shawanaga reserve in ontario.
