May 25, 1813 Battle of Alto de los Godos
Continuing on with their war to regain control of South America, Anishinabe soldiers with their Indian and black allies, battled a large white military force in Venezuela. It is known as the Battle of Alto de los Godos. It was another decisive Anishinabe victory over the white confederation led by England. The soldiers from the white confederation led by England, paid a dear price in this battle they lost. White casualties were 479 killed and 50 wounded. Anishinabe casualties are unknown. This battle was fought near Maturin, Venezuela. The whites had yet to give up the war for control of northern South America however.
