May 25, 1763 Battle of Fort St. Joseph
On Wednesday May 25, 1763 chief Washee led 100's of Ojibway Soldiers to Fort St. Joseph to attempt to capture it. Fort St. Joseph was located where Niles, Michigan is. Ojibway Soldiers tricked their way into Fort St. Joseph then proceeded to killed 12 of it's 15 soldiers. They captured 3 of them including Francis Schlosser. They were brought back to Fort Detroit. Ojibway Soldiers took control of Fort St. Joseph afterwards.
