Battle of Goliad
Not even a minor battle yet a battle we must reckon with. On October 10, 1835, a rebel white force of 125 soldiers, attacked a force of 50 Anishinabe Soldiers and defeated them. The whites supposedly attacked Anishinabe Soldiers at Presidio La Bahia. The 125 white Soldiers were supplied with axes by the towns citizens then proceeded to chop their way into a defensive fortification (door) before the 50 or so Anishinabe Soldiers could do anything. After the 125 white Soldiers entered the defensive fortification, a short battle followed which obviously caught the Anishinabe Soldiers off guard. After about 30 minutes of fighting, the Anishinabek agreed to surrender the town. Anishinabe casualties were 1 killed and 3 wounded. White casualties were 1 wounded.
