Battle of Saint Charles November 25, 1837

A few days after the Battle of Saint Denis, another battle was fought in the Montreal region. It is known historically as the Battle of Saint-Charles. A force of 350 white soldiers battled a force of 80 Anishinabe soldiers and civilians and defeated them. White casualties were 3 killed and 18 wounded. Anishinabe casualties were up to 56 killed and wounded. However, the Anishinabe exodus up to northern Quebec and probably Greenland, was still in progress.
