October 1, 1813 Battle of Vilcapugio
Another battle considered to have been a part of the Alto Peru Campaigns, or a part of the Argentine War of Independence, by white historians, is the Battle of Vilcapugio. Anishinabe soldiers were joined by 2,000 of their Indian allies soldiers, to fight a force of soldiers from the white confederation led by England. It was the whites who won this battle. Anishinabe casualties were 350 killed. White casualties were 200 killed.
