The Battle of Vincennes February 23-25, 1779

In July of 1778, a small force of white soldiers snuck their way into the Illinois country (they traveled by boat using the Mississippi river from New Orleans) where the great Anishinabe ogima, Pontiac, was stationed. They found refuge among the Illini Anishinabek. For some reason the Illini were not compelled to join in the war against their evil white brethren. Instead they formed an alliance with that small force of white soldiers under the command of George Rogers Clark who, i strongly suspect, were in that region specifically to assassinate the great Anishinabe ogima Pontiac. Unfortunately, the Illini people would pay a horrible price for siding with the evil white race. There was a battle in which 11 white soldiers were killed and 5 were wounded, and 79 captured then killed later on.
