April 27, 1813 Battle of Yerbas Buenas
This battle is considered to have been a part of the so called Chilean War of Independence. It was really a part of the war between the Anishinabe Army and army of the white confederation led by England, for control of South America. Anishinabe soldiers who participated in this battle were obviously from the main concentration of Anishinabe soldiers in the Andes well to the east in Upper Peru. The white confederation led by England, won this battle. They had easy and safe access to the western coast of South America and were capable of building up their military forces there. Thus, the reason for the Anishinabe surprise attack on the white invaders. Anishinabe casualties were heavy. According to historians one third of their force was killed, wounded, or taken prisoner in this battle.
