The Siege of Fort Ninety Six May 22 - June 19, 1781

This siege occurred in the English colony of South Carolina, between May 22 and June 19, 1781. Of course, the English resorted to hiding behind the walls of their fortified settlement. A force of 2,050 English soldiers under the command of Lieutenant Colonel John Cruger, successfully held off an intense assault on their fortified settlement by scores of brave soldiers from the Southern Anishinabe Confederation. White casualties in the long siege were 84 killed and 128 wounded.
