Lake of the Woods Reserve Community's Predicament

Windigo Islands are located in Canada yet only a few miles from Minnesota. Ojibway citizens living at this small Ojibway Kasba Reserve community located on Windigo Islands northwest most island, have to boat to Angle Inlet, Minnesota which is adjacent to Red Lake Reservation, to travel to Canadian towns by car for groceries, prescriptions and doctor appointments, ect. Since their community is located on an island and isolated, both Canada and the United States agreed to allow them exemption. However, recently at least one or possibly two residents of Windigo Islands, was called and told she or they, needed to self-isolate for 14 days because of the fabricated fable promoted throughout white media. The woman or women who were threatened, told reporters they thought the agent was new or possibly a racist! Residents of Windigo Islands have no choice. They have to boat to Minnesota to travel to Canadian towns by car. Lake of the Woods has many islands. Most don't have communities.
