Makwa Lake Reserve Drowning Victim Found


On June 23, 2020 a 6 year old boy was swept away by Makwa Lakes strong currents or by another body of water at or near the Ojibway Makwa Sahgaiehcan Reserve. A search and rescue team, searched for the missing boy by air, land and water yet could not find him. On Wednesday August 5, 2020 members from the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team, recovered the boy's body. They did not release details on where the boy was from. Makwa Lake Reserve is adjacent to Loon Lake, Saskatchewan.
