White Earth Reservation Woman Drowns While Saving Children


Raina Lynn Neeland, who was from the Ojibway White Earth Reservation town of Rice Lake, saved several young children that were swimming in a river near Clearwater Dam which is on Clearwater Lake which is located south of Red Lake Reservation. She had pulled an 8 year old girl out of the river then was pulled out of the river yet she was unresponsive. They tried saving her yet it was futile. Neeland was 18 years old at time of death.
