Battle of Fort Duquesne


This battle occurred during September of 1758. Around 842 English soldiers were given orders to patrol the Fort Duquesne region to attempt to learn of the French plans for protecting their fortification, but they accidentally got into an major battle with the French and their Anishinabe and other Indian allies. The victorious Anishinabek and French inflicted 312 casualties (270 were killed) on the English.
