Battles of Maguaga

This military engagement occurred during the War of 1812. The English and Indians ambushed an contingent of American soldiers inflicting 37 casualties on the surprised Americans, with 17 being killed. Around 4 days later the English and Indians planned another ambush of some 600 American soldiers but it proved to be a failure. They inflicted 82 casualties (18 were killed), however, but it was an American victory. English and Indian casualties were 35 with 8 killed.
