Colonel Bowmans Defeat
This battle occurred during the American Revolutionary War, in the year 1779. Most likely the Anishinabek, Shawnee and other warriors who participated in this 1779 battle, used weapons that they received from their Spanish trade partners. Americans were upset about the constant raids the Indians of the Ohio region were doing during their so called war to gain their independence. They decided to attack an Shawnee village but it didn't work out as well as they had hoped. In the following events the Americans were defeated, while suffering nearly 100 casualties, with around 31 of them killed.
