Colonel Crawfords Defeat

Americans were very upset about the constant raids the Three Fires Confederation and their allies were continously doing during their so called war to gain independence. Close to 500 American soldiers under the command of Colonel Crawford, were given orders to invade northern Ohio, to attempt to stop the Indian warriors from committing their raids, but what greeted the nearly 500 American soldiers was over 1000 Anishinabek and other Indian warriors. In the long intense battle that occurred, the Three Fires Confederation eventually got the best of their American enemy, which led the Americans to agree to retreat away from the battle they were losing. On the retreat, Colonel Crawford and a few other Americans were captured, and the Three Fires COnfederation were quite upset with the American actions, after capturing those American invaders.Colonel Crawford was horrifically tortured to death at the stake, by the ticked off Anishinabek. The victorious Three Fires Confederation inflicted 189 casualties (105 were killed) on the invading Americans, during this (1782-1794) Northwest Indian War battle.
