Siege of Fort Recovery

Problems were infecting Ohio Indians relationships by the time of the Siege of Fort Recovery. The Three Fires COnfederation's Delaware, Miami, Shawnee and Wyandot allies, would let the powerful Three Fires Confederation know about their discontent about the (1782-1794) Northwest Indian War during this 1794 military engagement. It must have been extremely frustrating for the Three Fires Confederation to have to deal with the Shawnnese leader, the white man Blue Jacket, who was in command of the Shawnee warriors. The Three Fires Confederation also had to deal with the Miami leader, Little Turtle, who had close relations with their white American enemy. Anyway, it would culminate at Fort Recovery when the Indians separated in two groups, with one being the Delaware, Miami, Shawnee and some Wyandot under Blue Jackets and Little Turtles command, while the other group was the Three Fires Confederation and some Wyandot. For some reason Blue Jackets and Little Turtles warriors failed to aid the Three Fires Confederation's warriors when they got into an battle with their American enemy. Tecumseh (he was raised by the white man Blue Jacket) likely spied for the Americans during the events at Fort Recovery. Anyway, in the battle the Three Fires Confederation lost, the Three Fires Confederation's casualties were close to 50, with 20 or more being killed. The victorious American casualties were more, with 63 in all, and 23 being killed. Tecumseh's spy work is what destroyed the Ohio Indian Confederation under the Three Fires Confederation's dominance, and it would show it during the Battle of Fallen Timbers.
