It's not White Earth Reservation's city of Mahnomen. It's Fond du Lac Reservation cdp or Census designated place of Mahnomen. Below are links to google earth photos of Ojibway community of Mahnomen. You probably never heard of this Ojibway village. That's because it's often thought of as being a part of Cloquet, Minnesota. According to 2010's census, Mahnomen cdp has a population of 239. It's a small Ojibway Town. Ojibway's make up 81.6% of Mahnomen's population. Whites 13.0%. Mixed bloods 4.6%. This Ojibway community covers 1.26 sq. mi. or 3.27 sq. km. It's elevation is 1,283 feet above sea level. There are 72 housing units with 69 lived in. Average household size is 3.5 persons per household. In Ojibway Language, Mahnomen means Wild Rice or Rice.
